Design and style:
The major and the most visible highlight of the Pulsar RS 200 is the aggressive and muscular design. The stunning looking front of RS200 houses projector lamps for increased visibility and style with an addition of LEDs. The racing exhaust adds to its stunning looks. Neatly cut edges and curves make this bike highly aerodynamic.
The front windshield is sturdy and aerodynamic with style.
The back of this RS200 dazzles you with crystal eye catching LED lights. They are distinctively high intensity tail lamps and very attractive to look at.
The instrument console is more of the same as Pulsar 200 NS ana-digital with the only difference of blue back light. This console has analogue tachometer with digital speedometer, digital odometer, digital trip-meters and clock. The ABS version also features an ABS on/off light.
Performance and feel of the bike:
The moment you start the engine and rev it you feel the difference as compared to 200NS. This Machine is packed with Fuel Injection (FI) and triple sparked engine generates 24.5 PS of power (1 PS more than the NS) and 18.6 Nm of torque (0.3 Nm more than the NS).
The RS200 is 20kg more heavier as compared to 200NS with reduced vibrations noise and harshness during high speed due to changes made in design and performance.
The Rev marker on this bike is marked at 9500 RPM but the REV limiter starts kicking in at 11,000 RPM. The engine houses six gears, each for a perfect shift and a considerable lead. This means it is faster than Pulsar 200NS also in top speed. The MRF tyres are really good and offer excellent grip especially for those sharp turns and sudden braking and Wheelies!
The Seating of the bike is comfortable with larger seats for the rider and pillion, the seating arrangement is comfortable because it is not very sporty and hence it is more comfortable.
A 300 mm butterfly petal disc with floating caliper has been used at the front and a 230 mm butterfly petal disc for the rear has been used. ABS has been kept optional for the new bike. I felt the braking performance of this bike has improved drastically because of this. A 110/70 tubeless tyre for the front and 130/70 tubeless for the rear guarantees superior track performance as well as comfortable city and highways rides.
RS200 is available in 2 eye-catching shades – Yellow and Red. It is expected that this bike could be launched in more colours in future.
The new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is at for the base model and (ex- showroom Mumbai) for the ABS model.
Overall I found this bike with good performance and superior handling sporty design and sure to catch your eye.
I would give this bike an overall rating of 4 star rating in terms of handling, looks, style, technology, performance and off-course price point. It is a good competition to the likes Honda CBR, Yamaha YZF R15 and KTM and I feel that it just might have an edge over others considering vast service network.
Yes, it’s worth the wait guys!
