IAMAI 11th Marketing Conclave
The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) organized the 11th Marketing Conclave this year at The Lalit, Mumbai on the 9thand 10th of June, 2015. The 11th Marketing Conclave was an Endeavour towards establishing a great comprehension of the modern methods and mechanics of marketing.
11 years after its establishment, the association is still the only professional industry body representing the online and mobile VAS industry in India. The association is registered under the Societies Act and is a recognized charity in Maharashtra. With a membership of 180 plus Indian and MNC companies, offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, the association is well placed to work towards charting a growth path for the digital industry in India
The main agenda of this year’s Marketing Conclave was Untangling Marketing Conclave.

All the attendees of the 11th Marketing Conclave got an insight of how imperative it has become for marketers today to evolve with the changing trends.
The two days of the Marketing Conclave were divided into 2 sessions Plenary Session and FireChat Session. There were in total 9 Plenary sessions, 4 Fireside Chats and 2 Leadership Addresses.
On the First Day we witnessed Mr. Tushar Vyas – Chief Strategic Officer South Asia Group M throwing light on New Benchmarks in Marketing and Digital Evolution of India followed by Mr. Rajesh Jain – Founder and MD netCORE Solutions Speaking about the relevance of digital marketing, Rajesh Jain, Founder & Managing Director, netCORE Solutions, said, “Marketing is changing profoundly with technology becoming an integral part of the function. The line between traditional marketing and digital marketing is blurring with the increasing adoption of internet and smartphones by users. An organization’s marketing strategy now needs to complemented with a technology strategy.”
Some of the important topics covered during the Plenary Sessions were how and why it has become important for a CMO to take multiple roles. Some Plenary sessions also covered topics like what measures should industry adopt to synchronize marketing process across channels and the upsurge of video content and influencer marketing, to the subject of readiness for the transition from mobile-first to mobile-only era. The sessions also included some interesting topics and different point of views of industry’s best on topics like if Hindi language should be integrated while marketing and how to simplify mobile marketing ecosystem.
While the Fire Chats topics included topics like the Coming Age of Digital Media and how would you establish a common Digital Standard.
These Fire Chats included some of the key issues and challenges currently faced by marketers and consumers, these were addressed by leading industry experts like CVL Srinivas, CEO – GroupM South Asia, Ashish Bhasin, Chairman & CEO – Dentsu Aegis Network; Rajesh Jain, Founder & Managing Director – netCore Solutions; Irfan Khan – CEO Blogmint, Prabhvir Sahmey, Head of Platform Solutions & Innovation – Google India; Mohan Jayaram, Managing Director – Experian, amongst others.
This year, the conclave gained significant importance because as per the IAMAI-IMRB Digital Advertising Report, as on December 2014, the Indian Digital Commerce market stood at INR 81,525 cr and is set to cross INR 1,00,000 cr by the end of 2015. This will be an important landmark and the conclave will provide a platform for key stakeholders to brainstorm and set the agenda for the next big leap forward.
Overall this event was a big success giving us insight of the Digital Marketing Industry and the changes that it is going through.
